Hello all, There has been many calls for a pricing structure on the turbo kit I and my partner Nick from Modern Performance have constructed.
I will warn you all now that this ( and im not trying to be modest , just honest) will be the most complete and highset quality kit that can be made for street and racing Protege with the FS 2.0L motor. It will incorporate the lastest in Engine Management and intercooler design. It is meant to be a trouble free system that will retain your OE look. (some people may feel the urge to color match:D )
There is no need to cut into any frame members in order to pipe the unit and very little skill in mechanics is needed. The kit will come with full color instruction manual along with a CD-rom full of pics so that it will guide you thru the install. Some will opt to get the kit installed by a pro and that is fine. Even they can do it (some humor)
At first we were going to do only one kit. After many lengthy discussions with my partner we have decided to provide three stages of zoom zoom fun for the protege.
Stage I, will be a low end kit. This is mainly geared toward auto trannys and those who just want a little more power out of the stock motor. This kit will top off in the 225 HP range. It will have a specially designed intercooler that can efficiently flow enough CFM for upwards of 300HP. She will use all the stock injectors and fuel pump. It will consist of a CAST manifold with full egr operation. Internally wastegated and a high flow mandrel bent 2.5" downpipe. We will have an adapter midpipe that can be either migwelded or flanged to the EXISTING second cat. This will make the install clean and able to be a drivable monster in one day. All intercooler piping will be made from high strength steel mandrel bent. They will come in a variety of colors that can fit either your personality or that of your car. The owner may choose at time of order. The turbo will be a garret T3 . The exact specs will be given to the buyer upon order. Every kit will be hand assembled and proccess in a custom fashion. WE WILL not mass produce anything. We will taylor to the individual needs of the consumer.
The price for this particular stage is $3800.00 + shipping
The kit will include EVERYTHING you will need to complete the kit yourself. Every nut, bolt, washer, set screw, even the drill bit needed for the pilot holes to mount the intercooler.
This will also include the FULL engine management piggyback system now installed in my vehicle that will control ignition and fuel delivery. Also included will be an Autometer Boost gauge with the kit.

Stage II,
Now this is where it gets interesting.
This kit will be for those who want to run higher boost levels and do them more efficiently. Note that even with stock internals that this kit can be used to run up to 15 psi of boost. Stage one is recommended for only 7-8 psi and stage two 12-14 psi daily. (ONLY WITH PREMIUM FUEL)
This kit will include a larger 255LPH fuel pump to be installed in tank. It is a direct replacement for the stock unit. It will also incorporate a larger MAF meter at the tune of 70MM. A larger intercooler able to handle upwards of 500HP and larger diameter intercooler piping from discharge to intake. Larger compressor for the turbo and larger downpipe. There will be a need for a larger aftermarket exhaust. We can fabricate it for you at an additional cost.
This particualr kit will use a piggyback tuned for higher performance levels , but the great thing is that when and if the internals are upgraded the injectors are the only thing then needed to hit some monsterous HP levels.
This again will be designed with the owner to make sure that it "fits " the system you are using.
The price for this Stage II is $4800 + shipping.

Stage III. This is a very serious design. this kit will include forged internals and LSD tranny. I WILL NOT go into specifics about this kit unless someone is seriously interested. This is the kind of kit you install for racing only. Not to say it wont be streetable , just not recommended. We have a kit that will put out over 550 HP for a street driven vehicle to start.

I know there is alot more info you will need and some pics. The fianl on my kit will be ready in a couple of days. I will post pics of the final setup then.
There are also many individual products we are offering for those allready turbocharged. Along with new intake manifold and throttle boddy in the near future.

Complete details for the kits can be had by reaching me at (732) 222 - 3679

Iwill answer any questions you may have either via posting on this thread or on the phone. Thank you for your time.

:D

I want one.... I'll put a sticker on my car to advertise for you if you give me the kit for free :) lol......

it was worth a try..

OH MY GOD!!! is all I have to say...... I'm going to get some other stuff bought for my car first(exhaust, forged internals..etc), but I can guarantee you that if all goes well with your kits, I will be calling you up within a year. Nice work and keep us all posted!! (thumb)

Perf... Have you done shake down tests yet of your R&D kit?? Dyno'ed it yet?? I might have missed it. Is your research similar to other kits you have designed?? Just seems the marketing has began without any official numbers. I'm NOT saying it will produce great numbers! :D :D Just curious on you and your partners research. It seems that you guys are pushing it to the extreme in turbo kit technology!!! (thumb)

Raaz, thanks for asking.
We have run the car N/A now for about 1000miles. She runs real strong and breathes very well. The piggyback has also been installed and running great with a 70MM MAF meter for better tuning compatability. She is now in the final stage of development which means that the final load map needs to be implemented and we go to the dyno. Looks like Monday will be the day. You'll know because a post will be up informing the guys in jersey to attend if they wish like they have requested.
Now on to your other comment and the comments of some others in this forum. ALL DAY all we do is install Turbochargers. All day. We tune high performance street and track mahines. We are a full scale machine shop and have the ability to fabricate anything we want. We have leaned more now toward the tuning world because we have a unit and system that is the most amazing product on the market. The shop constantly is either installing piggybacks, standalones, upgrading turbokits onto existing vehicles, tuning 600hp vipers, you name it. My partner in this venture obviously has a tremendous amout of experience over me in the field. He has been doing this as long as i am alive. I on another note have been doing this for 8 years. I went to school for automotive engineering. Unfortunatly because my father was diagnosed with colon cancer i was unable to continue and finish my schooling. I instead went to the family buisiness to help get them back on their feet. I have since then for the past 3years been doing resaerch and started my own company designing high performance products for local customers. Since i teamed up with my partner we have a combined total of 36+ years experience ONLY IN FORCED INDUCTION AND HIGH PERFORMANCE STREET MACHINES ALONE. Forget the fact that we rebuild and upgrade engines everyday. And build a 1100HP race truck. In time all will see that experience pays off. We may not have the name on this forum like Spool or FM but wait and see what we are doing in this and other markets too. You will soon see alot of comotion. Hopefully the protege community will be the first to excell in the new import market. We are here to provide that experience.

Perf... congrats on the success and recognition thus far. I hope to visit your shop soon to see all the fun & interesting stuff you have planned, especially for us automatic transmission users.

Where abouts in Jersey are you located? I'd love to swing by and drool if I'm ever in the area...

inquiring minds would like to know.
15 psi is not alot of power. My set up will be an exception because we are building up another tranny for for it. the Stage I and II kits will fare fine with the stock trans and a good clutch.
The problem lies in how these guys shift and degrade there car when driving. nice smooth shifting and you wont have any problems
dump the clutch in any tranny and we'll see how far you get. Or start slamming gears because you think that split second will help you. Bottom line is if you have a properly tuned car and you shift at the proper time youll have no issues. transfering torque needs to be a smooth transition . not jerked.

MosDef on your success. It's just like my shop in NYC. They went from small time tuning in Buffalo, NY to Queens, NYC, building motors for Ed Bugenholtz's CRX, Impo Civic, Ecko Civic, and Angela Proudfoot Etc. I can see tuning Vipers is also a big insentive! :D Just one suggestion in your Stage III. How about T04E with 3" compressor inlet!! Any thoughts on that???
