Here's the deal; last week I was out driving and decided to downshift and give it some juice. The engine went to 6000 rpm, then the damn thing sounded like it was racing and it leveled itself flat at 4000 rpm. It was doing it sporadically in the higher gears, sounding like full boost but forcing itself down in the rpm band.

Shop tells me that the cold weather here in Illinois is causing issues with the waste gate and overboost. I argued for vacuum leak. After driving it around for an hour or so though, it seems to boost fine.

Any thoughts?

The only thing I can think of is that when boosting your loosing an enormous amount of air. But this is just a guess.

I know our cars have some issues with electronics in cold weather. I know that sometimes when I go to unlock my doors using my alarm remote, it does not unlock, and I have to also use the key. I wonder if the electronics have something to do with anything?

Bahahhaa, the alarm is going nuttz? Well if it's anything- ever since the whether turned cold out here my radio hasn't worked.

Does anyone know if some engineer died while in production of the MP3 and is going around during Christmas time messing with our electronics?
