I lowered my speed 6 with H&r springs, got new tires, and soon realized my front tires are getting inner ware very fast. How do I cure this ?
Thanks.

it will eliminate the issue completely? It seems like the reason this is happening is because of the negative camber.

Incorrect toe will cause much more inner tire wear than excessive camber will. Excessive toe-out (which is what your car is likely suffering from) combined with any kind of negative camber will eat the inside of a tire very quickly. Get your car aligned and everything will be fine.

You'll want some negative camber for handling purposes, and either 0 toe, or just a little toe-in to keep tire wear in check.

Most alignments are done to factory specs, and the ones for our car are very liberal. Your best bet is to find a place that does performance alignments (think people who autocross etc) and go to them. Know that we have no provision for camber adjustments in the front from the factory, I highly recommend getting a set of SPC adjustable ball joints.

dont completely zero out the toe.
torque pull, and the way the all wheel propels the car, they suggest a very specific toe setting via factory specs... as chief was sayin.

I went to 3 alignment places today and they all told me that since I am lowered the negative camber increased and they cant do anything about it. Also they said that the toe isn't whats causing this.

Sbc Adjustable ball joints will help by adding more adjustablility in the front.

Agreed.. Toe will destroy your tires very fast.. I had set on my Beetle that lasted over 4 years.. And that was witha round -2 degrees of camber

Bought a new set for my 18s and I did some suspension mods. The dealership said they aligned it after putting on my camber plates. Well nope.. The toe was off by like a whole inch on one side and half an inch on the other

Did you get it aligned? It will show your camber and if its within the specified range of the car.

And it will show the toe

nope. Some shops said they wont even attempt getting it on the lift and the other shops said they wont do it cuz the specs are different and it wont come out perfect. One shop agreed to mess around with it on Monday for 60 bucks so im going to go there.

NTB will align it.. Every car I have had thats been lowered they will do. Heck they even install lowering springs

Agreed. NTB has aligned two of my lowered cars to my specs, and hasn't charged extra for either.

The big thing to look for is a shop with a newer Hunter alignment machine. Just about any lowered car can fit on them - even lowered Corvettes.

They're ignorant idiots as well.....

one shop denied me when I came there for alignment cuz im lowed

you need to goto a race shop, like Pheonix Performance or something.

if the entire tire is wearing out fast, then that's your toe..

if it's just the inner edge of your tire from your negative camber, then you need to buy some camber plates or bolts and realign the car yourself.

You should talk to a race shop, they have ways to fix this.. just be sure to bring money to the table (camber plates are easily $200 each, so you need a pair).. the rear is probably going to need some custom made adjustable lateral links which is nothing more than 2 pairs of tie-rod type bars.

There's ways to fix it, you just need to find a race shop that can help assist you with the solution, but dont expect it to be free or low-costing. How did you lower your car in the first place? You should have looked into redoing your suspension right from the first time around and get coilovers, camber plates, adjustable tie-rods, rather than burning up some medicore street tires..
