so i just bought a msp 2300 bucks with a blown motor and i put a 626 motor in it out of a 01 or 00 i think but i got it to turn over and all but the timing is so different. when i line it up dead center it backfires and runs like complete s*** from idle rpms to 2900rpms and above that it will rev just fine but it will take a couple seconds for it to get up to 3000 rpms i have tried almost everything the intake cam down one tooth while the exhaust is even and the ex down 2 teeth while intake is down only one and both being two down from two teeth from center some work better then others but still no right idle can anyone help? or anyone who has transformed a 626 into a mazda speed it has stilla 626 crank dampner on it. i probably wont be on here ofter so if anyone can help please text me 219-242 5289

You can not use the pulleys off the 626 engine. They use a different pickup design for the sensors on the cam and crank pulleys. I went through that before. Like the cam gears if you look at the fronts....the 626 only has 1 raised lump and the msp's and my mp3 have 2 lumps. Same for the crank....the 626 has 1 tooth missing where the msp and mp3's have 2 missing. Swap over your original pulleys you should be good. I text ya too bud....hope all goes well.
