Thinking of purchasing a MP3!

I know this is the MSP section but there's more action on here and I have a pretty general question. I have not been active in a while since i sold my MSP. Someone hit me and totalled my dd, and now im on search again. A MP3 has come up with a little over 100k, clean title, body is straight. Price around 3k. Issue is it burns a little oil. Smokes at start up but not while driving. Suspecting valve seals. But what you guys think YAY OR NAY???

i say, yay. how long does it take to pull a head on a NA fsde. phew, how hard can it be. snatch that baby up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like an easy fix, it was probably beat on if it's already burning oil at 100k but swapping the motor/head in these cars is not difficult. I think it's worth 3k, I can see owning one myself to replace the MSP as a DD. The only problem will be finding one since they barely made 2000 of them.
