Thinking About Leasing A MS6 For My Girlfriend

We've been looking at cars to lease for my girlfriend and we both really seem to like the MS6. We were looking at A3s, New 3 Series, Z4, GTI, etc...

The MS6 seems to have a good ammount of power, looks nice, has 4 doors, and is AWD.

Are there any pitfalls or reasons we shouldn't get one? She mainly wants a "fun" car, and something a lot different than her current Tahoe. Also needs to have 4 doors so we can take our Weimaraner puppy around... since she isn't allowed in my car :)

Think we're going to look at some tonight.

Just looking for some insight from some owners.

Thanks,
-Peter

bump for a great topic!

I am looking for a car for my girlfriend as well. I want to lease this as well for her, but she doesnt want it because she knows I will driving it more than her :)

+1!

MS6 is a great car when compared to the competition. There are some crazy lease deals going on right now, go for it.

Yeah ~ 269 for the sport.

What's it's main rivals? Evo / STI / GTI / A4?

She would get an A4, just she thinks it's silly to have a car so similar to mine.

I've had mine for about a month now. The MS6's main competition is intro luxo cars so you can't really compare it to focused cars like the evo/sti. They are more like toys then cars really. The ride/steering feels heavy, it feels very German. If you driven a 5 series, or a A6 you know what i'm talking about. Its a soild feeling car unlike the msp which felt very light. For how much you can get these cars now, its a steal. Its too bad mazda never really advertised these cars because its one of the best cars that no one ever knew about.

Ups - Good ride quality (compared to the msp), fairly quiet, Fun to drive, Decent handling

downs - bose stereo is awful (can't change it), Gas milage in the city is bad 15mpg, Clutch take up is abrupt and not predictable, Tire noise is bit loud, ride height is too tall.

Well her Tahoe gets 13mpg city and my S4 gets 12.5, soo... :-p

She's mainly be driving highway miles though, so mpg should be in the mid 20s right?

Thanks,

I say about low 20's if she mixes 80% highway 20% city. Its a great car, especially if leasing. There isn't much in aftermarket but I like it that way. I don't need to spend money and the car does pretty much everything i want it to.

I'm getting ab out 450km out of a tank when the light comes on. Then I fill up. 15mpg seems REALLY low to me.

The only real downside is that you should be putting in 93 octane to get the most out of it. All the other negatives can be changed for the most part. Yes, even the stereo. All the stereo really needs is a sub, and a mp3 player (audiolink or aux mod)

Best bang for the buck for luxury sedan with top-notch horse power would be the Mazdaspeed 6. If you're leasing it, then that should be a great choice: Turbo, AWD, leather, navigation, comfy. Since you're leasing it, then you won't be able to consider aftermarket mods for it... besides quality comparison, I don't see another car that can match up to the MS6. Plus, you're leasing it for just a few years so quality doesn't matter THAT much. By the time anything decides to break (Mazda is beyond a Mitsubishi in quality) you would have already returned it under warranty.

Notice: It is against the law in the United States to "Lease a Car" for somebody. That is called a straw purchase/lease. This applies to Guns and Ammo..and Cars. Do some research my friend.

Um... ok. It's going to be in her name but I'm writing her a check for the payment every month... She's paying the downpayment.

Anyway. Red Speed 6 with navigation and Sirrius. $260 a month.

She should be getting it tomorrow. :)

I'll post some pictures :)

She got the car Friday night.

It's a Red MSP6, Navigation, and Sat. Radio. Car seems really nice, quick, and tight.

Nice car, and $260/mo that's crazy. If you don't mind me asking how much did you put down? I'm really interested in this car, currently I drive a G35 6MT, which I love, but I'm paying $600/mo and I need to reduce my expenses because the wife wants to quit working.

Another question I have is how is the clutch, is like a Honda at all or more like a Ford? My G35 is very heavy and you have to be pretty accurate to get a clean shift.

for 260/ month you'd have to put about $5k down...

I know the advertised price when I got mine was 269/mo wuth 2600 down, but then you have to add taxes and whatnot, so they'd want about 5-6 for that payment.

But you're financing to buy it, right? $600/mo can't be leasing, now THAT's just crazy. The $260/mo is leasing cost for them.
