Thinking About a Mazda Protege5

They actually aren't that bad. I might try and use the restore kit on them, but I've tried a restore kit on a previous car i owned and it cleared them up some, but wasn't clear enough. Besides I've seen plenty of brand new head lights on eBay for not a lot of money.

And the ones on eBay are worth even less. You may have to sand them down a lot to get the oxidation off. You can't get by with just the compound very often

Yeah i know all about the Cheap Chinese Junk that's on eBay. Been on eBay a long time. There are quality aftermarket headlights available from Companies such as Depot and Eagle Eye. Also might luck out and get some some OEM head lights in great condition which is possible, sometimes you can find brand new OEM parts for a really cheap price. The best thing about this Mazda is i have nothing but time with it. I going to post some detailed pictures of it so you guys can see the condition better.

I'm keeping this, So my rims were starting to peel and bubble and had rust on them so i snagged these from Craigs list for a Awesome price. I think they will look good on MY MP5. They are 17", not sure what Mazda they came off of though.

Well So much those rims fitting on my Mp5. Rims fit but the tires i got were too tall. Also they need spacers. Rims came off a Mazda 6. (sad2)

they'll look good tho if you get some spacers. - one of the members on here sells spacers eh? MSP racing harts were 17's too, so you should be able to fit your mazda6 wheels on with the right sized tire

popular tire sizes on a p5 for 17" wheels are 205s or 215s in either a 40 or 45 series sidewall...I'm not sure of the offset on the 6 wheels, but if you have no plans of seriously lowering the car...you have even more options...just keep the profile in the 40'ish range, if you start getting into 50 or 55's on 17" wheels you'll quickly run into fitment issues...

That would be be :)

Let me know if I can help :)

I Ended up selling the Mazda 6 wheels and tires to a Mazda 6 owner. I picked up some rims from a 2003 protege. Little bit heavier then the MP5 rims but i like they way they look.

Vivid yellow mp3's and p5s were a single stage paint and didn't get a clear coat. Therefore the paint will oxidize and look faded. They should be buffed once a year and waxed every 3 months after a detailed hand wash.

My mp3 just got its yearly buff and looked amazing till it rained for 3 days straight

So sold the P5 years ago and just picked up another Mazda. My 2nd Mazda.
