just wondering what the hell is going on w/ mazda? they keep on lowering and rasing the price of the MP5. i look at the paper like 2 weeks ago and the mp5 is 15k and now its 13.5k and it was 14.5k like 2 months ago when i got my MP5. im just confused?

Nope. My sales mgr friend said the same thing. Says every time they get an order in, there's a different price! Drives him absolutely batty!

I can verify that the 3 invoices I saw, for the 3 cars I was interested in, had all the cars, and their options priced differently. Plus, mid 2003 model year, they made the roof-rack optional, and the subwoofer included no-charge.

Confusing.

I paid just a bit under 17.8K as:

2003.5 P5
5-Speed
Laser Blue Mica
Leather
Moonroof/CD Changer package
ABS/Airbags package
Subwoofer
Rear Bumper Guard
Wheel Locks
Cargo net
Cargo Tray
Roof Rack
Moonroof Wind Deflector (which I dislike)

MSRP was almost $20K on the Window. Expensive for a 5-speed, but it has just about every option imaginable - only the polished alloys remained, and I'm not too keen on the factory polished alloys. Invoice was about $17.5-17.6K, but I chipped in on the tow bill, and dealer trade cost (car was at a dealer about 50-60 miles or so away)

that sucks, mine was 19,400
you paid 19.4k:eek: , for that price you could have gotten a WRX, RSX, 2.5RS, MSP.... damb i whould never pay 20k for a MP5:rolleyes: , sorry to hear that but it seems u got ripped off.
i paid only 14.5 for the base model exept wheel locks and rear bumper guard.

A WRX for 19.4K? I don't think so. In S. Florida, there's not a SINGLE WRX with an MSRP of under about 25K, and they're NOT going to knock $5K of a WRX.

An RSX (non-type-S) is a puny, tiny little car. I had trouble getting in-and-out, so even the Type-S was out of the question. Non-Type-S, maybe for 20K, but not a Type-S. They're almost $24K, and in most places in the US, they don't NEED to haggle, becaus they sell relatively well, and most production is non-Type-S anyway.

a 2.5RS is ugly as hell, and most have a ton of factory options added on, which I found in that same local-dealer-search I did when shopping around on the WRX.

MSP: yup. 2003 is $20.5K, and 2003.5 is $21K, and that's usually not negotiable, unless you know someone. My Sales Mgr buddy could only offer me $600 off the window, but I decided for the MP5 to keep my payment under $280/month.

Stealth5: When'd you get yours? What options? Where at?

i ment used, sorry.
and u think that the 2.5rs are ugly... how do you dare to say that to my face...j/k. and im talking about a 2000 or 2001 2.5rs Subaru

i paid 17,500, then did 1750 down and 2,000 rebate

car features:
5 speed sport-auto
moonroof
6cd indash

good deal for such a great car!

As to ugly, I was actually referring more to the wagons, really. I think the sedans are nice, except the headlights are so
DAMN H U G E

As to used, no WAY would I ever get a used WRX, just as I wouldn't get a used Mustang GT or Cobra. I'd HATE to get someone else's thrashed out car!!!!! ;)

they are lowering the price every day , not up and down.

Look, i kept the newspaper from last month.

1) Lease rate dropped from 5.95 to 5.45
2) Frieght and PDE waived (as on newspaper)

the price itself - i dont know, but it seems they are trying to get rid of the mp5 now.

well, to be correct, they're trying to get rid of ANYTHING, right now. EVERY car from Mazda has a rebate on it except for the MSP. Everything! Tribute,MPV,Miata, all of 'em. P5 has $1750 rebate, Protege sedan has $2000, Tributes have at least $2000.

Cars cost differently in differnt parts of the country, also. Emissions differences can mean a few hundrew dollars, different freight figures (Mazda does not *CHARGE* a destination fee, except to Alaska, but I'm sure it's melded in there somewhere)

the sticker price on mine was 17,800 it came with all the standard options plus 6 disc in dash and moonroof. no roofrack cuz i dont need it. got my car for $14,400 brand new w/ 4 miles on da clock!!!

Don't feel bad - It'll ALWAYS be that way. If that were the case, you'd NEVER buy a car, because when ya got the '03, you'll say you shoulda' waited for the '04!!!

(werd)

Luckily I got the 2002.5 that looks like the 03's.:D

I got mine for 17,500. With everything in it like leather and the 6-disc and moonroof. I guess anything around 17,500 is kind of on the high end.

I paid $16.200 for my 2002 P5 with Cassette player, wheels locks, cargo net, and alarm system.

I got 0% finance for 48 months - my payment is $269.73 with $4k down.

Snack McGee, your P5 looks awesome with the polish wheels and the windows tinted... Just get a set of springs and it would look even better! Yellow P5s look damn good.
