btw... why do ppl keep their windows rolled down when racing? doesn't open windows upset the aero dynamics of the car at high speeds and create more drag?

in autocross, they like to keep the windows down just incase if you flip the car, they could get the driver out. I don't know about drag racing, but it may be the same idea too.

I am so sick of every one on the internet talking about this mustang I am a big ford fan, and I know what a ford can do. I have seen a 351 in a maverick run 5.80's in an 1/8 mile on horspower with no supercharger or nothing just straight up motor, lets see an import do that, I have also seen a 4.6 peg a dyno, lets see an import do that. This mustang did not have much done to it you can tell just by listening to it, it had a small cam in it, maybe a little work on the heads and a good set of flowmasters, know if you want to talk about a ford come talk to me b/c I have got a 1971 ford pinto with a 351 in it right now, the car is set up to run 8's on horsepower with stock heads, and when I am done with it it will be down in the 6's with a set of dart heads "modified", stroked and bored to a 427 small block, and a full roller cam.

I'am very sorry, but this is exactly what we "import" people hate about the "domestic" crowd....if we can S2000 2.2L engine and increase its cubic inches to 5.0L, then we can match perfectly....Oh wait, they do have it on the IRL cars! And Chevy/Ford got nothing on those (scratch). ALso if your 351 looses 2.8L, its in any match for a for the afformentioned S2000 NA engine? I bet it wont pass any smog inspections either. ANd no A/C!

Wait, lets compare the 2.2L vs. the 2.4L in the Cavalier.....(bike) So what it comes to view here is, that the import crowd has found a replacement for displacement: technology, if we cant have a 6.0L LS2 engine in our Proteges, well then we can have a GT30R in it to compensate.


Oh sorry, this is just my opinion(lick)

PS-Here is a nice clip of my 2.5L beating a 4.6L, its about :35 seconds into the video...

No body cares b/c if it has a v8 and its not fast, its a joke. V8s are expected to be fast.
Get over it. Oh yea theres a supra with 1150 hp all turbo in a street car.

anything can be made to be fast it is that simple. i've seen 1.8L cars be 6.0L cars and vice versa. so get over your piece of crap 351 cause no body gives a damn.

PS-My STi is not the fastest either, but it only has an intake and exhaust, and keeps up with supercharged Cobras (no pulleys please (wow) )

How about this one.....still has a/c, stereo, airbags, stock clutch, electric mirrors, big ass wing, STOCK TIRES, no nitrous and a four cylinder.

One fast 4 cyl(whip)

PS-did you count the shifts(drive) ....6 speed tranny, none of the automatic BS that domestics use. The driver actually does something.

I agree with him. I had a Z28 that was fast as s*** (12s) and was beat by a KID in a civic. It all depends on how much money you have. No that mustand didn't have crap on it. Even with a good cam it would have some lope to it. A buddy had a 91 DPS mustaing and with just head work exhaust a little weight reduction and drag radials was in high 12.
The kid that beat me lived with his parents and sunk almost as much money in his car as I did to buy mine. So its not one is better that the other its all about the cash.

And just to hit on the GT racing, I believe the corvetts won!
