suspension knocking on lowered 5?

Ok, i put some ms3 springs on my 5 about two weeks ago, everything seemed ok, i didnt put any spacers on the back, i didnt mind the sagging... although i didnt notice much of a drop on the front with the ms3 springs... riding on 17's.

When i have any additional weight in the back, i start hearing a knocking when i go over bumbs and what not only coming from the rear drivers side wheel?

I know the springs have to be put in a certain way, could the spring be lose? or is this a sign of bottoming out? the car still has alot of bounce when i hear the knocking... and if i were bottoming out, why wouldnt both sides be making noise?

Thoughts?

Double check your install.

We had a clunk as well at first. Upon inspection, as we were jacking up the rear to investigate, I watched the spring - it literally 'popped' as I was jacking it up.

Issue: The rubber sleeve had slipped out of alignment causing the spring to sit sideways. Took about 1 hour to fix the problem, removing the wheel, RSB, spring, then reinstall everything.

+1
Check your install again or go to the shop where you had them installed and have them check it.

yea, probably jack it up tonight if its decent, and head over to the shop friday if i could notice anything. thanks for the input!

I have the same issue, even without any weight on it. I thought my shocks where blown already. Ill be at the shop tomorrow for sure.

i had this problem on my 5. struts were blown and needed to be replaced. was running H&R springs.

Yup, jack it up, check your install...mine was my sway bar clunking around, but it could also be a loose bolt on the shock, a mis-aligned spring or blown shock...I replaced mine with ms3 shocks and springs, no problems besides the sag, still too lazy to install the spacer, but it rides fine so far.

mine doesn't lower, stock suspension. Started to have weird noise from driver side rear (sounds like something hits on a thick rubber). Will check the rubber sleeve asap. Thanks redheadz.
