Definitely the best advice anyone can give you OP. With the right handling modifications the P5 can surprisingly keep up with a lot of cars in the twisties, given a decent driver. You may not be into driving on the track or back roads, and that is fine, but that is where this car shines compared to straight line speed. On the other hand if you are willing to spend large amounts of money, more power to you! Handling will just get you the most bang for your buck.Get some coil overs and a rear sway bar and leave him behind in the twisties. With a few suspension mods the protege will out handle an st with ease. Corvettes had a hard time keeping up with my mp3 on back roads only thing that put up a good fight was a 911. Most of it was driver mod though
METH = cooler temps + aggressive timing = more power
Where have you been?
I've never heard of any na car using meth. All it does is cool down intake temps
Aggressive timing= needs to actually be tuned. Where have you been? Cam gears will have timing constantly advanced which would mean always runing meth which is pointless. We're talking about a protege you're not gonna get that much power. The mp3 tune actually already has a pretty aggressive timing advance. Sure you can still play with the timing via cam gears but why spend all that time and money on a meth setup for 5hp?
Meth is good for people who want to push their turbo and end up with high intake temps or people who don't run an intercooler
