Still having trouble with cold air/MAF

hey guys i have 99 LX protege 1.6l , and ever since i bought this Injen tuned cold air intake when i connect my MAF sensor my car will sputter between 2400 and 3400 rpm like its not getting gas...when my car sits over night and i turn it on first thing it runs great...then when it warms up 2 minutes later it starts sputtering and all that mess....does it matter if i accidently bought that Injen for my 1.6l when it was meant for a 1.8l ? ?? if i get a mod chip and tune the A/F ratio, install my exhaust it will balance out? ...advise please
 
oh i forgot to mention i already tried disconnecting the battery and holding the brake down for 30 seconds still ecu wont take..
 
did you install the MAF sensor backwards in the pipe? is it seated correctly? are all of the connectors seated and sealed, or is one of them leaking?
