Still getting batter light after new battery and alternator

I replaced my original 06 batter and alternator because they both needed to replace. The alternator was only putting out 12V with a new battery. Now with the new parts the car still has some problems like when the battery died. The ABS lights, than steering and than the battery lights will come on and then the engine will quite. Not a good feeling when this happens while driving because power to brakes and steering are lost.

This has happen twice in the morning, once the car is restarted it would be fine for the rest of the day. I have check all the electrical connections and hooked up my OBD2 reader after that and everything looks good the battery voltage is going from 13-14V depending of engine speed, and no code has been generated.

Anyone have any idea what else I can check?

flakey ignition switch?? if grounds are all ok. Shake the key in the switch to see if you can reproduce the problem??

I was thinking ground too.

I though of the ground also and already have checked most of the electrical connections. I have even loosen them and re-tight the ones I can reach. I will try to give the ignition switch some shaking to see if I can reproduce the problem.

We both walk or take the bus to work and do not drive often. I do have a garage but will try the ignition switch, thanks for the input.

Check as much of your under hood wiring as you can see for damage. Maybe the harness going to the alternator is damaged? Did you make sure that the plug was all the way down on the connector when you installed the new alternator? Mine was a really hard push to get it to seat all the way.

First time driving the car is a few days. The problem did not show up, tried wiggling the ignition key while driving produce no result. I will check the alternator connection again. Maybe this time I will pull it out and push it back in to make sure it is in properly.

It has been almost a week since I last poke around under the hood wiggling and tighten what I can reach and the battery light and stalling has not come back. Don't know what the problem was, the only other things I can think of is the brushes on the new alternator needed to be broken in or the ECU was having some problems relearning after the battery was disconnected.
