Stalling: HUGE Safety Concern

Can do No.5....man, I wish my car stalled when I was at the dealer so they wouldnt think i was crazy..I feel like the stalling due to the ECU is like the "blue screen of death" for Windows..you can't detect a problem with the computer, but it crashes none the less from time to time....

Well if they do not fix it....lets email the law firm that went after Ford........A hungry law firm will take a class action suit just to collect fees from the loser....providing of course they believe they have a good chance of winning...

sounds good to me..but i wouldnt even know how to prove to anyone that we arent crazy.....but it sure is a thought..i'm definately with you if a lawsuit is neccessary....you've got some U.S. backup here!!!

Thank you! I have done this several times in several different cars...your tires WILL NOT LOCK UP!!! Unless something is holding back the crank...

Sorry. Seems like a struck a nerve here. I was just trying to point out that this isn't a problem that will cause you to go flying thru traffic and hitting something. I do agree that it is a major problem that should be addressed though.

actually brakes dont lock up but TIRES DO LOCK UP... cant turn your steering wheel... all u can do is brake when it happens...

I wish to take my car to the shop to see if any problems also... but engine usually die on me only on uphill and rpm above 4000... and there's no hill within 5 miles of the dealership i bought my car in... so i guess i'll bring it in if it gets worse...

The ONLY way your tires will lock up when the car stalls is if there is something PHYSICALLY holding back the engine. That is, a peice of metal, or perhapse water, stopping the piston from going up and down. Or maybe the starter catching on the flywheel. Could be one of the accessories completely stopping and locked up. But if any of these things happen its not as simple as starting back up the car. If your tires are locking up when the car stalls, you have got a major, MAJOR problem with the car and it needs to be taken back to Mazda for a lot of repair.

Well, things have been pretty quiet, and quiet for a reason 'cause the dealership hasn't called.

Still no word from Mazda on an ETA for the fix.

If anyone hears different, please let me know.

BoostisGood said his dealer told him to expect a call in 2 weeks with the Rom ECU Flash upgrade direct from Mazda! !

This is US, though

I'm hoping it's a recall for Everyone, b/c if not, I'm driving up there!

How long has it been there for?? I just left mine at the dealer today. That thing is driving me nuts! I can't drive it for another day the way it is.

I can't believe it. Mazda Canada hasn't even contacted me to tell me anything. Not that I told them to, but I made it very clear I wanted to know ATLEAST an ETA. :wtf:

Either this Flash is indeed coming, or the delearship is dishing BootisGood a line of crap.

I had my first MSP for exactly 24 hours when it just shut down. I was going like 75 across a bridge (very flat) when it just turned off and the engine, oil, tranny, and abs lights came on. It had like 1/4 tank of the original gas from the dealer. Tried starting it periodically for over an hour while I waited for roadside assistance to show up and it never started.

The bastards at the dealership wanted to give me a rental car while they "fixed" it. But... uhhh.. NO. I freaked on them and they gave me a new one. Now I am glad I freaked... sounds like it is a somewhat common problem. Next time I go into that evil place I'll ask what they discovered, if anything, and post it here.

Not that any of this helps you fix your cars, just want you to know I shared your plight. I have had no problems with teh replacement so far...

Good luck

what they discovered, probably, is that the next person who bought it either hasn't had the problem yet, or is just dealing with it.. more than likely the dealership put the car right back on the lot..

so when is this flash comin out??? I can't wait cause it's embarassing when someone test drives your car and stalls on them while driving it..... its pissin me off too

Yep it's Embarrassing all right. You have to think twice before you race grandma in her Ford Pinto, she might take you if your speed is on the rag.

:wtf:

(2thumbs)

I've yet to go out on "cruise-night" due to the embarassment of a stall.

 FLASH ME!
(argh) FLASH ME!
(pissed) FLASH ME!

Especially if you have a nice set of these --> (boobs) (boobs)

LOL, that made my day!

Stdjyhan99 - dude read the posts. No one knows when it's coming. The unofficial word from a dealership in the US says 2 weeks. I haven't heard anything from Mazda Canada, and if this is anything the CLUNK, who the heck knows when it's going to be fixed.

Here is my opinion....

I think that you guys on here that actually know how the hell to make stuff like hesitation and whatever other problems you are having go away....teach the mazdaspeed techs!!!
