Sqweeek!!!

:
Black Mica Speed #538
ok does anyone have any idea why the hell my shiffter is sqeaking like ill just be driving along and all i hear is like a rubbery sqeak, and it annoys the s*** otta me

   :wtf:

I heard the squeakin in my shifter for a day, have no idea what it was about but its gone now, it was really irritating tho

My shifter just started squeeking yesterday:wtf: I don't know what it is but definetly super annoying:mad:

its like a constat humming sqeek type thing that gets worse when i hit bumps and stuff i dunno what it is but it sounds like its comming from the shifter

mine sounds almost like a squeeky skateboard truck. I can really hear it in between shifts, but also a little bit if I just barely move the shifter back and forth in neutral.

GODAMN SEATBELT LATCH !!!
Drives me nuts !!!

Same here, I want to put some oil in there to see if it stops but I always forget.

I get a squeak from the seatbelt latch. Could it be coming from there or are you sure its the shifter?

 I took apart my seat because I installed after market leather thinking my install was the source of the squeak. Turns out it was the stupid seatbelt latch!!!!(hand) Is there a simple resolution for this?

my shifter squeeks when i move it. only after some use tho. if i turn the car off for the night, the squeeking is gone for the first 10-20 min of driving. then it starts squeeking when i move it.

any of u guys try to put WD40 in the seatbelt latch?
did it work?

I think I have some answers:

-Seatbelt latch thing - I had the same squeak (curvy road driving)and for the longest time thought it was the seat. I squirted the whole thing inside and out with WD-40 and haven't heard anything since (now I keep that little small wd-40 bottle in my glovebox)

-shifter squeak - You could be having 2 different types of squeaks
1-the squeak that happens after 20 or so minutes of driving and then your shifts feel stiff and rubbery and you may hear a rubbery squeaking: solution - lube up the connection of the shifter stick to the shifter linkage (the bolt and the bushings)
2-other squeak that happens all the time shifting and not sounding as rubbery as #1 - that's just the shifter ball, lube that s*** up, should go away.
Right now I'm getting squeaking when in 1st and 2nd gear, weird, gotta lube that up.

mine shifter squeaks too.!!! not sure if i am going to let the dealer mess with it or do it myself...

DUDE thanks !
just got some WD40 into that latch, cant really tell yet if the squeak is gone untill i drive it, but i'm sure that was it.

Damn that seatbelt latch is my biggest gripe about this car. I sprayed my seatbelt latch twice with silicone-based lube, which initially cured the problem both times, but both times they came back! Louder than ever! It annoyed me so much I took out the whole damn seat so i could spray the s*** out of that hinge from all angles...went away for a little longer than before...but then now is coming back! :'( :'( :'(

I think next time when I have the time and tools I will do the same, but actually take out the bolt, clean everything in that hinge, lube it up again, and tighten like hell. Do you guys think this will do the trick?
