Spring insulator question

I've got an eibach prokit that's ready to be installed, but i worry about losing the rake. Does anyone know of any definate ill effects of running the setup without the front lower spring insulators? I figure that'll drop the front about another 1/4".

I've never heard of anyone eliminating the insulators... that metal-on-metal contact would make a pretty noisy ride.

Well it wasn't intentional, but apparently one of my spring insulators came partially undone so now my driver rear corner sits another inch or so lower I'd say. However, when I was changing my struts I forgot the spring insulators the first time and it sounded TERRIBLE!!

Maybe you could make something yourself? Probably could make a slimmer one than the chunky stock spring seat?

Thanks for your reply, it was just what i was looking for. I know that some cars can use them optionally and i just wanted to know how bad it would be.
