back in the early 90's, IIRC. but they weren't called protege's, as stated by Dexter, they were 323's

not just the 323GTX. geez dexter, yu0 first gen pro nut should know that mazda sold a sedan first gen protege (from 1990 to 92 i think) that was all wheel drive in the US and Canada. much weaker AWD linkage, not at all like the GTX. very prone to breakdown and failure.
