Hi all,

While its been a long time since my last post (amazing how working full time zaps my enthusiasm for staying up all night and responding to every post about the 5), I have continued to love my 5. Unfortunately, the time has come for me to move on to another vehicle. We bought a new Ford 4x4 Supercrew and traded in the 5 (12200 trade allowance woohoo).

Sad to see her go, but in the Yukon, I wanted a vehicle more suited to our environment and lifestyle (Snowmobiling for 6 months of the year and quading for the other 6).

I will recall with fondness my time spent with this forum and the folks who frequent these pages. Thanks for all your advice and good wishes.

you got over $12k for trade-in on a 2007!!!!!! how many miles did you have??? I'm looking at doing the same thing in the next year or so.

Congrats on the new truck, post some photos! How many kms were on your 5? Mind you Whitehorse probably has a short supply of used vehicles so they command more of a premium, I find Edmonton's used cars are a bit more pricey as well compared to Vancouver. The trade in value for my 07 with 155,000km was $7,000 in Vancouver, that was as of last fall.

My GT 5 speed/no leather, nav or stacker had 60000 km. Winter and summer tires/w rims, and a Mazda roof rack. However, the windshield has multiple cracks, the brakes feel soft, and the engine has a tick at startup when the weather is below -10C. Also, it was time for an oil change and the fuel tank was on fumes.

The truck stickered for $47750, and was discounted $10250. The dealership added a box liner, mud flaps, bug deflector and their winter package (oil pan heater and battery blanket) for another $1300. Ford .ca estimated the trade value between $7200 and $8800. The $12200 offer was a big surprise. So my OTD cost was $28000. Too good to pass up.

Took our first drive tonight and took a 100 km trip out to Marsh Lake and back. Truck averaged 11.3 L/100 km (25 miles per Canadian gallon). Not so good in town, though. 17-18 L/100 km with an extremely light throttle foot. Oh well.
