car just turned 15k and need to get an oil change soon, should I go with full synthetic if so which one?

1. Castrol syntec
2. Mobile1
3. or motorcraft synthetic blend? I use this oil in my acura and cobra with great results and its $2.69 at walmart

or should I just stick with regular oil at the dealership?

I am still running the Motorcraft 5/20 in mine.

On the other hand, I only run Mobil 1 in my Mustang.

If you are happy with the Motorcraft oil, I see no need to change.

If you are going to use synthetic dont use a blend.. all your doing is paying more for conventional oil.

I personally have used mobil 1 but now that I use the ELF/Total I will never switch back.. it is the BEST bang for the buck and the BEST oil availible in the states IMO.. mobil1 is not even a full synthetic.. nor is castrol or any other US made oil (AMZ/royal purple/ELF) are the only TRUE synthetics I know of.

And where do you get this oil? And how much $ per qt?

Just asking as I have never seen this oil anywhere.

You need not switch, but of those choices the best cost/benefit ratio will come from the Motorcraft.

Contrary to popular belief (and I've been in this camp before), blending synthetic bases with conventional can produce significantly more improvement per $ in the final product than going to 100% synthetic.

I'd avoid Mobil 1 right now; their 5W30 product results in significantly more wear (mainly iron) than is allowed by the spec they claim to meet (SM/GF-4). I can't vouch for their other grades. They may be on the brink of re-formulating, which will hopefully correct the deficiency, but right now I advise everyone to avoid M1.

I've had good results (based on analysis) with Pennzoil, Red Line, and Renewable Lubricants products. Lowest cost per mile in our usage, however, is probably blue-bottle Chevron Supreme unless I can go just a little further on the Renewable. Need a bit more time and data to verify which way I'll go.

I just passed 15k on my newly acquired pre-owned 5. Mobil 1 0w-20 Advanced Fuel Economy for me - I'll take the free 2% bump any day - and there's a $10 rebate online as well (for submission in April).

Whatever your brand choice you can switch to whatever oil anytime you want.

All 5W-20s are syn blends; different companies have different standards on what they are willing to call a "syn blend".
