Hi was quoted 450 for four new shock absorbers for mazda 5 sport. i assume this includes labour. Can anyone tell me whats a reasonable price for these supplied and fitted. thank you.

That's about $750USD, so I'd figure $250 for labor and probably $500 for parts if you're going to the dealer. Sounds about right, but I'd look at some other option. Even if you want the stock shocks again, you can look around for better prices buying from dealers through the internet, then have your local guy put them on. I'm guessing you may be able to get down to 300-350GBP and save some cash.
 
I would suggest you look beyond Mazda OE shocks. IDK if you have a diesel and if they have different shocks b/c the diesel engine is heavier and produces more torque, but our Stateside shocks and struts are all bottom-barrel affairs. Many of us have gone to KYB GR-2 units with more success. It may be more difficult to source those over there, but another thing to remember is that underneath it all, the Mazda5 is the same platform as the Mazda3, Focus and Volvo S40/V50/C30. Not saying those shocks will work, but perhaps there is a supplier that is renown for a good product for any of the above that makes them for the Mazda5.
