'02 Red P5...BUT AS OF 1/31/08 an '08 Silver SPEED3!!!
I remember reading a thread (yes, I searched, couldnt find it). It was titled something like "how to get out of a ticket." A couple folks from my area (DC/VA) had mentioned that they found a reasonably-priced lawyer to go to court for them. I was hoping someone could tell me which lawyer they used out here, or if they had heard of any reasonable ones.

I got a reckless 88 in 55 on Dulles (I HATE that road) on Sat, and then a little (unrelated) no left turn ticket on Sun.

I am a driver by trade, and if this goes through my insurance will skyrocket and I may lose my job. I need to get the reckless bumped down or dropped. The court date is Oct 2nd 2003.

Please help!!!!!

Thanks guys,
Brook

Yikes, hope everything works out in your favor, blynzoo. I too need some help in that area. Got two tickets from an asshole cop in PG because he thought me and my hubby were street racing. Wrong place at the wrong time. Word to the wise, don't overheat in PG at 1:00am in a vette, yo ass will be ticketed... or should I say PROFILED!!!

I hope it works out too. Here is the problem. "Reckless" in VA is just a 30-day suspension, because it is an automatic ticket above 20mph. However in DC (where my license is) "Reckless" is totally different, in the same category as DUI's, fleeing police, using a vehicle to commit a felony, i.e. you can get a speeding ticket for going 30 over and it NOT be reckless. So I worry that the much more lax VA "reckless" may be translated as DC "reckless" (the two are totally different), and in DC "reckless" is an immediate REVOCATION (not suspension) of your license. So I am in serious need of help here.

Pm JDMSam. He posted a link to a web site about how to get out of tickets.

When I got mine I just hired a lawyer for $40 and he got me on Differred Adjudication so if I don't get another ticket in 90 days it does not go on my record.

Holy s***. I didn't realize DC went THAT far... best of luck to you, sorry I can't be of help. :( Keep us posted....

Let me know if there is anything I can do to help..
sorry to hear about your troubles..

Half the VA cops just want to bring revenue into their commonwealth at the expense of people who live out of state. I had several tickets in VA in the past. One of them was for having a radar detector in my glove box, one for tint (even though my car wasn't registered in VA), and speeding. These were all on seperate occasions. I paid them all except the tint one because it wasn't worth my hassle. VA points don't transfer back to MD. Just the violation. So 3 years later I just had my driving record cleaned and all the VA crap is gone.

Talk about a state with some messed up laws. You automatically get a reckless driving ticket if you are going over 80MPH. Doesn't matter if it's a 65MPH zone or not! I'm glad I don't live there...that's all I have to say. Good luck fighting your ticket.

Damn man, I don't know what to tell ya...I usually try and say something useful, 'cuz I kinda have a source in this stuff(my father is a judge in spotsylvania county, and my mom is a lawyer), but I really don't deal with stuff in/near Dulles. Let me talk to my family about your situation and see if they know any good lawyers in your area. Where did it happen and where do you live? I'll try and help you out best I can.
