Hey guys, so I picked up my msp about a month ago and I'm experiencing a problem with it. I've done some re search on here and not having much luck.

Basically when I'm coming to a stop I'll throw it in neutral and occasionally I'll watch the rpm's drop all the way down and the check engine light will come on for a second and the battery light will come on for a second then the rpm's will come back up to normal. Other times this will occur the car will actually stall out and I have to turn it back on.

I checked and its not coming up with anything on my scan tool, coil packs, plugs, wires, and battery have all recently been changed. If anyone could point me in the right direction that would be great.

Thanks guys.

Is the car stock? Are you running an aftermarket BOV? If so, has the MAF been relocated?

sorry should of listed that before, mods are:
- street unit SMIC and street unit hardpipes
- street unit front and rear billet aluminum mounts
- AEM cold air intake
- forge bypass valve
- secondary fan
- 2.5" magnaflow catback exhaust
- stewart warner maximum boost gauge

I'm having a similar issue, did you determine the cause of this problem?

I got a CEL for a bad O2 sensor, but I've replaced it (upstream) and still get drops in RPM when idling. Usually mine doesn't dip low enough for all the lights to come on, but it has happened before.

My car is all stock, with a few pertinent replacements (silicon vacuum houses, etc.)

try cleaning the egr valve

EGR Valve

READ ABOVE. does anyone with questions know how to read or post results?

my experience is that the bpv stays open to long and does not let air get to the throttle. Some people have after market bov's and would say to swap out the internal spring for a stiffer one.The stiffer spring would close the valve sooner keeping the car from stalling (dipping rpm flickering lights from gauges). You may have to either upgrade bpv/bov or relocate maf so it registers air correctly. Good luck.

thanks! that sounds alot more like the problem. I'm currently running a forge bpv. Read online if I were to go with a bov at stock boost I'd probably be seeing some power loss.
