I just purchased some 17x7.5 RPF1s this morning with with some 215/40/17 tires and went with the recommended +48mm offset. Nice to see someone else going for the RPF1.

I would assume the thread about guys putting 16x8 FD wheels would yield some helpful info. I'm unsure about the offset sizes for those 16x8's, but front and rear spacers are required to fit. I'll see if I can't find the thread...

Damn, everyone with a Protege is going to have these now. I just got some 17x7 +45 a few weeks ago. With ~1 degree of negative camber in the rear I just barely clear the fender. Any less camber or offset and they're rub, no problem. 16x8 is going to be a hard fit, not to mention they're heavier. You could always try 16x7 +43 and run some decent negative camber.

Tire size? Any pics you can share?
I have 215/40R17 Kumho Ecsta SPT's - I love those tires! 215/40 is the closest to stock you can get with a 17 inch wheel. I had some pics, but my hardware crashed last Monday so I don't have them on my computer :( There are some pics buried in the "What have you done to your P5 today" thread though.

the 16x8 weigh like 16 lbs they said and i know some ppl on here have done a 16x8 wheel but i just need to know what off set i should run its ether a 32 or 38 offset

The only 16x8 wheels that I know of people fitting without getting crazy (fender rolling/pulling, extreme amounts of negative camber, etc.) are the 16x8 FD RX-7 wheels, which have an offset of like +50 mm. I'm should you could get 16x8 +38 to fit but it's going to require a decent amount of work. What tires are you planning on running with these? I assume you're looking for the super-JDM stretched tire look because you aren't going to be able to fit anything greater than a 215 series tire on those. If that's not what you're going for then stick with the 16x7 as they will require less work and still be lighter in the end. Just FYI, my 17x7's actually weigh less than ther 16x8's you're looking into and you're not going to benefit from the extra 1" width due to tire restrictions.

I'm not trying to bust your balls or anything just giving you everything straight. If you're after the "look" as it appears so many people are nowadays then it doesn't really matter - you'll just have to work for what you want. But if it's performance you're after, you might want to consider another choice.
