Rotated Sway Bar?

Hey yall...
It seems like I saw a thread a while ago about the rear sway bar getting turned 180 degrees in the wrong direction so that it is facing the rear suspension linkage, well my swaybar has some how flipped into this position after being installed correctly!(bang) I have the progress rear bar with the P5 endlinks and now I am trying to figure out what I need to do to keep this from happening: do i need different endlinks? do I need to get a klunk fix? Please help me out!

when i lowered my lx. i got the racing beat sway bar and i had to get the MSP endlinks because they are longer. so it makes the swaybar sit parallel to the ground like it should when it was at normal height with the LX endlinks.

i would pick up MSP endlinks. when your car is sitting on the ground, look under it and look at the ends of the swaybar where the endlinks attach too. if the ends of the bar arent sitting parallel, you need longer endlinks. that should fix it right up.

?????????Sounds scary. I installed mine facing back to begin with just like the oem was facing using the oem endlinks. No intereference with anything, no movement, no clunk, no changy position. Oh yea, lowered 1.3 all around too.

Has anyone else with the Progress Sway Bar had similiar issues. Like I said, it seemed like there was a post about this a while back...now if I could just search for the right keyword.....

yea in the pic where it is installed and he is on the ramps. it looks like the bar is slightly angled, which is not good. the MSP endlinks would bring it back to parallel with the ground.

I'm not sure the MSP endlinks will fix the problem. They're shorter than the other Protege endlinks because the MSP rear bar has shorter "arms" than the stock bar. The Progress bar's "arm" length is very close, if not the same, as the stock bar's, and it's designed to work with stock endlinks.

EDIT: what I said here is wrong. The MSP endlinks are evidently longer than the others. Sorry for any confusion.

after getting some sleep (I have a newborn at home) and looking at my car I realized that the swaybar is in the right position but it turns out that i broke the drivers rear mounting tab for the endlink....
looks like it is time for a new set of shocks! any recommendations?

tokico hp or illuminas, if you want adjustability.

the hps are like 1.5 -2 setting on the illuminas. i would pick up a nice set of springs too. if your still rocking the stock setup.

i knew the bigger swaybar would most likely snap the tabs off the stock struts. but it didnt hit me until now.lol

actually, having has both my ES and Mazdaspeed endlinks in my hand at the same time, the Mazdaspeed links are LONGER than the ES ones.

as for the original poster, i'd be curious to know what the crap you were doing to have that happen?!??

No problems with mine so far. I have the Progress bar as well as stock end links and stock struts too. With 90,000 miles on them.

Hey,

I have had the Progress sway bar with stock end links in the car for about 9 months and have had no such problems.

I am lowered on MEGANE racing springs and Tokico Illumina's though.

Still, the only way I can see the bar rotating is if you fully decompressed your suspension say...while driving (or practically flying) over a speed bump, railroad track or something like that...since it should only rotate itself given the room...

See post #9. He said he didn't rotate the bar, rather just broke an endlink mounting tab.
