Roof rack filler caps don't fit?

Hey rackless protege5 owners. I bought my car without a rack but with the rails without the filler caps. I didnt mind until in a car wash my headliner got soaked. I purchased the caps but the rear ones dont fit. Its as if they are too long. Any ideas?

Yeah move them around until they fit right. IIRC, they fit almost backwards opposed to how it seems they would fit. I has racks but have also tried going without so I have a set of the fillers.

Oh wait, isn't there 2 other little filler things you have to take out when removing the cross bars that makes the spot big enough for the filler piece, you'll see what I mean.........and you have to line up the slide nut thing for the rear crossbar in a certain spot under the fillers so they seat all the way down.
