I curbed a rim today trying to dodge some asshole driver...its not too bad but it will bother me everytime i look at the rim because i know its there...any ideas as too where i can find a rim or 2? i like the original mp3 rims and want to keep those...thanks
You know I tried searching, but I couldn't find a post from a week or so ago about somebody in the same boat. All four of my rims are scratched at the lip as well. 2 of them from parallel parking, and I believe 2 from the dealer (I don't usually parallel park backwards) grr. Oh well I didn't notice until 2 weeks after I took the car in so I said screw it.
Anyhow, look in the Rims/Tire section or something. Somebody posted a link to a do it yourself rim-repair job from a Porsche site. It probably took awhile to do it, but the end result was perfect! I may try to do it someday myself. But I think someday I'll just save up for my most favorite wheels ever - Volk TE37s .
I've got a deal guys. How about I sell you my wheels since I'm getting new ones. 2 have been curbed, but are repairable and 2 are still fairly clean. I was hoping to get $350 for the set (minus tires), which I think is a very fair price. I'm not sure how much it would cost to have them repaired though. PM me if you're interested.
I went and got a quote on getting the wheels repaired today. Damn things will cost $120 per wheel to repair. Having these repaired would make them like new of course.
