Over the weekend I scored a set of 2010 MS3 factory wheels! They were only on the guys car for about a month and they are in perfect shape! They are 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, and came with 225/40R18 93Y high-performance Y-speed rated summer tires, from the factory. What I would like to know is what size and brand all-season/summer tire would be a good choice to run on them for my 5. I already have a set of winter wheels/tires so would like to know what people are running on their 18's for late spring, summer, early fall. Thanks for any and all suggestions in advance!

if you can get the sumitomo HTR-Z-III in that size, that'd be my first pick for a performance summer tire. i had them on my mazda3 and loved them.

Not sure if you read EVO Magazine, but in their latest issue was their huge performance tire test. It's worth checking it out for their recommendations (they do some pretty exhaustive testing).

The top pick was the Continental ContiSportContact 3.

They are already the right size for the 5.

So after re-reading the tires recommendations thread again and looking at my budget I chose to put Khumo Ecsta AST's on the wheels (and they were made in Korea). So far very happy with my choice but not too many miles on them yet. Thanks to those that replied! I will get pics up in the wheels thread soon. I am really lovin the look of this setup.
