Redline is there to prevent the engine to blow. So, redlining will not blow it!!!! But for sure will wear it. If it blows N/A, it already had a problem.

On my P5, Sometimes I redline instead of using the horn if someone is crossed in my way jamming the traffic :D , just for that .

For racing....I ALWAYS shift at about 6k rpm. Reving beyond that is a WASTE OF TIME, our cars are tuned for LOW-MID torque, not power. You will be running slower and weaker at 6500rpm+.



good english. THe whole point of everyone telling him not to, is there is no use in doing so. The car was not designed to be revved that hard and does not have useful power in that range, all you are doing is burning extra gas.
 
And what about the MP3?

What is the peak rpm level before loosing power/torque?

Is the ECU and timing is tunned for more power @ higher rpm's?
Hence the 10 extra Hp?
