yes it does heat up like a b****, but i noticed that boost temp(what really matters) is highly reliant on how the intercooler is cooled.
cai or sri ... if you car is sitting there and you have tmic your gonna get heat soak ... your boost temp is gonna be relevant to the cooling of your intercooler. My IAT was 82 degrees and my boost temp was 98 degrees, outside was 74, when IAT dropped to 78 my boost temp was still 98 and sometimes it will go up to 100 with the same or lower IAT. So it shows that air after the turbo is heated up and a couple of degrees cooler IAT will not make a difference. HAHA take that whitey. I just had to say it cause in every SRI vs. CAI tread your the cheerleader for the CAI ... your the damm masscot even haha.
oh and it doesn't take 2-3 mins to drop the IAT close to ambient temps, it only takes about 30 secs to a minute of consistant speed and drive.
im not saying sri is better than cai ... just wanted to point something out.
I will say that the CAI vs SRI thing is very true that side by side in a race I doubt you get much advantage for something so small. For discussion purposes I just hate the idea of drawing in hot air.
There is truth to what you guys are saying but I would still rather be taking in the coolest air possible. I will take the reasons of choosing a SRI for cost and easier filter access but no way is it the same or better as a CAI.

That's still your opinion. I had both and prefer the better response I felt from the SRI. As for hot air, it's only when at idle and it's only after a period of time. While driving the difference is so minute as to not matter. Basically IMO, any advantage is all in your head.
