Rear wiper arm spline count and size?

Anyone have any idea how large (diameter) and how many splines the rear wiper arm stub has? I hate replacing just the blade, and always end up with a less than ideal cleaning path on the crappy blade inserts I've been able to put in. I'd rather replace the entire blade cartridge at once like the fronts. If I can swap anything onto the rear stub that takes a normal wiper replacement piece rather than just a refill, I want to do it.

Has anyone removed theirs?

I just buy the full replacement blade and and arm (not just a refill) from my Mazda dealership, they're $10 bucks and you don't have to remove the entire arm down to the spline, the wiper part of the arm unhooks about half-way up.

You wouldn't happen to be using 'cheap' refills? There's a rear wiper how to thread. It sounds like aftermarket replacements suck bc they don't have the right pivot design for a clean sweep (MS3 wiper is diff too, has 1 extra clip point so better distribution -I think). A 'good' refill (i've had good success with PIAA refills from Amazon) on the OEM arm is better or direct OEM refill or replacement works too but cost more. It is my personal opinion that replacing the whole wiper when you only need a rePlacement insert is a big waste of resources... Also OEM arms are usually metal and sturdy, while aftermarket ones are plastic.

I just realize you are talking about rePlacing it down to the spline. That is not necessary bc it just like the front.

I'm using just the blade insert refills- where you have to slide out the rubber portion and somehow replace it with another one. That's the only way I know how to replace these things- I always assumed the cheapo plastic arms from the factory were not replaceable. If you can swap out part of the arm with the blade itself like you normally would on the front by only buying a $10 one from the dealer, I guess I could do that. I haven't had too much luck with the PIAA blades/arms and especially not the Rain-X branded ones... I use the Bosch Microedge or Icons when they're on sale. As far as I know though, I can't put one of those on the back with the OEM wiper arm.
