Question for those with previous Mazda leases...

I'm in a 39-month lease with my Speed6, and I'm finding that I want to just drive it everywhere. It has sort of become the family car for trips, which is killing my mileage allowance. Not by much, but I'm probably going to be about 3000 miles over in my first year.

I was just wondering if I decide to turn this in at the end of the lease for a NEW mazda, if the dealers usually work something out with you where you don't have to pay for the extra 10000 miles or so?

If not, I love the car enough that I'm not at all opposed to just financing the $15K residual and keeping it for a while longer, but I was just wondering in case my family needs change in the next two years (and I wanted to get a CX-7 or something when this lease is up)...

depends on the dealership and how bad they need to get rid of the car you want to get into...I've seen them wave 1000-2000 over but I've never seen them wave a 10K overage balance...

just sell the car yourself before the lease is over. Problem solved. The last 6 months of your lease, find out what you owe, and put a for sale sign on it. You'll never get someone to take over a lease with a lot of kms on it unless they want to actually buy it via finance the 15k themselves after the lease. But I have sold all my leases myself and actually made money off of them for my next car. I suspect that might be a bit harder with the ms6 given the price of this car for a "mazda".
