Question for those who Traded in MSP for MS6

That is what I am seeing too. There is a $2k lease rebate, but I don't really want to lease. I think I will probably wait for a some better incentives, like you said. They will probably come out in Sept. I am sure there will be plenty MS6's left on the lot.

You may want to lease it with the intention of buying it out. Leasing is a much, much better deal than it was several years ago because manufacturers have decided to focus their incentives on the lease market. I'm regretting not looking into a lease after reading this article:

i have a lease on mine and it is actually $75 less a month then the payment was on my msp! I do plan on buying it out after my 2 years are up.

So this car will be a 6-7 year plan whereas my msp was the a 5 year.

I can live with that! Plus my mountain bike fits in the trunk!

Great article, thanks!

I am working a lease deal with one dealership and a purchase with another dealership as we speak to see what would work out best for me.

Question I have is...on the lease, is the buy out price at the end negotiable? Or is this price pretty much MSRP-how much you pay on the lease payments?

Cool....I'd like to buy if possible, but we'll see what my options are. I am going to see if they will take the lease rebate and apply it to the purchase. If they do that, I will be driving the MS6 really soon.

one way or another your gonna get screwed by the dealer.

yes, he may offer you 15k for your MSP, Which sounds awesome, but he will in turn jack up the price of the MS6.
Private sale is your best bet.
I couldnt find a dealer willing to budge on the price of the MS6, so I got a Legacy GT.
No regrets so far.

Yeah..that is why I am shopping around. I'll take the best trade in offer and then the best price on the MS6. I will then tell each dealership what they other is doing for me and hope to meet somewhere in the middle. If they don't then I wait until there are better incentives.

Trust me, I have done this before and I don't mind taking my time and getting the best deal possible. I saved 7K doing this for 2 weeks on my wifes Sorento.

Get different Mazda dealers competing against each other. I did that when I bought my Suby and I save $$$$$$$$

Good luck!!!

That's exactly what I am doing. There are 4 of them within 30 miles, so I have some decent options.

Thanks....I hope I can work something out.

I would suggest going to a whole new mazda dealership and see if you find a MS6 there with the same options as the one you have eyed an the other dealer. Try negociating the price with a salesman there making sure you don't even mention a trade in. I guarantee you will get a lower price. That is the trick. Get them down to a price that you want, THEN spring the trade in on them.

It's like bulldog said above. If the dealer knows you plan on trading in they will find a way to make is sound like you are getting a deal, when really you would be paying more.

that is exactly what I did. Never mentioned trade, went to various dealers and I got what I was looking for.

Good Plan, guess I need to talk to that 4th dealership then.

You would be surprised what a few well placed emails can do. I had my deal made for my car and only actually went to one dealer. Hit the Mazda web page, start emailing dealers. That is what I did. BE sure to mention that you are asking several dealers, tell them to cut through the bulls***, give you the bottom line.

Man I got ***** I guess. I only got 10k out of my msp when I traded it for an 06 wrx. It had 52k on it, aftermarket wheels and suspension, the rest of the car was put back to stock. And my car was immaculate, it didn't have a door ding, and still shined just like the day I bought it brand new. Oh well, I'm happy with my decision so thats all that matters I guess.

My car will be bone stock when I trade it in also...I just have to take the parts off. 10K isn't bad either though, one dealership told me 10,500 and I only have 39K on it. It all depends on what the dealer is willing to do on the car they are selling you.

It's all just a game....

Just an update for those curious, I have one dealership offer the MS6 Sport for $23,900. Another dealership is offering the GT for $26,900.

New update, MS6 almost mine!

They are now offering the Sport at 4000 off MSRP (24,500) and they have a 2.9%APR for 60/mo until the end of June.

They are also 4500 off MSRP for the GT.

Since I like replying to myself so much....just thought I'd share that I am now a MS6 owner.
