Purchasing Mazdaspeed

Been doing alot of research on mazdaspeeds, and i really like these cars alot. Great handling, and potential for some straight line speed too, from what ive read!
Locally, ive got a pick from a 2003 Black Mica, a 2003.5 Yellow, and i believe the other deal in town has a few as well.

I drove the black one, and with S Plan, will be about 19,100. The guys said the rebate wouldnt be available, but ive yet to really negotiate, and if i buy the car, i will get the rebate:D

My main concern is the hesitation issue. i did notice it on the test drive, granted it was about 90 degrees outside. Is this going to be fixed, or is tuning it some enough to solve the problem?
Im really looking to get a great handling turbo car, that i wont have to mod much to have alot of fun in. Im a college student, soon to be working part time, and i can afford the payments, but not alot of mods, which is why i like the Protege.
Great suspension, great stereo, great looking, turbo.. and well a warranty!

Hopefully, the parents cosign for a low low APR, and with the rebates, and S plan, i can walk with less than 15k financed.

More to come soon.. hopefully the proud new owner of a MSProtege this week or next.

Since when is the Mazdaspeed available on the S-Plan? GRRRRR I was under the impression that it wasn't yet available for S-Plan pricing.

What dealers are you looking at?Are you looking at dealers in KY or up in cincinnatti?I was just curious because the dealer I bought mine from has the best salesman I have ever met.He was just a straight forward guy!

I was told the same thing. However this was before the rebate on them came out as well. Perhaps this pricing structure was done in conjunction with the rebate.

They said it normally wasnt available, but since this one has 700 miles on it from them driving it, that they would offer it to me.
And im looking BlueGrass Mazda, Audi, Porsche, in Louisville, Ky

I got mine on S-plan back in April. They have never (at least to me) stated that it wouldn't be part of that!

they told me that splan wasnt available on the showroom 2003.5 one, but the black one would be fine.
Parents seem ok with me buying it.. showing them wednesday!

KyRacefan-

2 things:

1: Nice birthday (same as mine Feb 23). I was checking your profile as you stated your folks were helping you out and was curious.

2: Be weary of a "new" dealer car with 700 miles. I would ask for a service history from the dealer. They are required to provide one for you if you request it. It may have been beaten up during those 700 miles. Check the tires for heavy wear and do a very thorough study under the hood for leaks and general distress considering 700 miles is a ton for a "new" car. You just can't tell who has been ragging on that car.

Good luck!

The car is new for sure, but i do worry about the 700 miles. Both sales people i talked about said they Loved driving the car, the speed and handling, and im sure its been test driven. It also sat at a movie theatre premier for 2f2f, so i knows its been on the highway some too, as the theatre is a few miles away.
The tires are fine, no abnormal wear, even though the treadware is 140 and they wont last that long, hopefully 15k miles... but im gonna autox when i can, and take it to the track.. so we'll see.

Engine still looks spotless, coolant is nice and clear, oil is full and amber. Might request they change it anyways since it HAS been driven hard.

I know break in is important on a new motor, and the dumbass salesmen said its broken in factory, so we'll see how it goes tomorrow when i take the 'rents to look at it.

Wish me luck!

we'll see what i can work out... 700 is alot of miles. ;)
USED CAR USED CAR!
i'll walk on em, too cuz i think another dealer has a black 03 too... need to call em.

Well, stopped by the lot after work, since its on the way to my friends house where were gonna take his Y-pipe and cat off so we can put new piping on tomorrow, and well, the black one i drove had a big yellow SOLD sign in the front window. :(
They still have the yellow one. but yellow is too bright for me, so im gonna inquire about a 2003.5 Laser Blue Mica, or possibly go across town or something to see if i can find another black one.

If not, then well, the car hunt continues...

 :

Well they called this morning, and financing fell through with the buyer, so its still available.
Too bad i work today and tomorrow, and wont be able to go till saturday. BUT good news is that im about 80% sure im gonna get it then. Next 2 days will be spent weighing pros and cons, and checking out my personal finances. Can i afford the car once i put my down payment on it, and then go part time?

Let you all know soon.

Ah this is so wrong but...

KYrace kinda sounds like two pooftas running for a tube.

Wow. Just like 3 weeks ago I went to a dealership and they had a 2003 black mica msp and a 2003.5 blazing yellow (?) msp that I was looking at. The 2003 was used with 6000 miles. The yellow was on the showroom floor never test driven. I was talking to the owner and I got his card, etc. I could have test driven the car but I dare not put myself in that position because I would have gotten it. I just need to pay my current car off and just drool on other message boards.

Oh, there was a phat ass yellow Mazda 6 on 19" with 5% tint. All it needed was a drop and all I needed was a towel
