Mazda Protege lx 2.0
i was interested in buying a cork-sport exhaust. it says it fits The exhaust system fits the complete range of 1999-2003 sedan models including the Mazdaspeed Protege, MP3, 1.6 ZM engine cars, 1.8 FP engine cars, and Protege 5. i have a protege lx 2.0 sedan non turbo or non super charged , would it not fit my model? or are there any other exhaust systems that anyone would recommend?
also what does a protege BJ 99-03 mean?(braindead

BJ is the model of protege you have 99-03. As far as exhausts theres plenty of options for an exhaust for the 2.0 the P5 ehaust is shorter than the sedan one so if you got one for the P5 it would need to be shortened. Corksport is a good brand but unless you get a full exhaust all you need is a muffler and piping done at a shop thats what i did. Also unless you want a loud raspy sounding exhaust then keep your resonator and cat. If you have headers then install a cat to keep the sound down if you want. I have a APEXi muffler with custom piping no cat or resonator and that b**** is loud and raspy but I like it. I recently ended up getting a corksport 60mm exhaust which i will be installing soon.

Just google protege exhausts youll see all the options. Now 2.5 is all youll need unless your boosted then you would be looking for a 3" exhaust to allow better flow if you get a 3" on a NA car you will loose back pressure and power. Hope that helps clear things up also if you want to learn more about the Protege then hit up http://www.protegefaq.net/ theres pretty much everything you need to know about your car.

I know people have done it, it was the way he worded it made it sound like some where supercharged from factory.
