Project Black has Begun! - Colorado

Sounds like your mind is already set...

Yeah, I would really like them, but then I look at the odometer and think, "do I want to spend $1000 on a car worth $5000 total with or without the rims..?"

I have a lot of good mods on this thing and it's running great for now. Contemplating a sale sometime near May; otherwise, you'll see new shoes by then.

I did it with no hoist, no engine hoist, no tranny hoist, and no manual. I didn't know half of what I was doing, but I will admit that tearing the parts car apart helped becuase I was able to make a note of where stuff would go when it went in my car. In hind sight I was an idiot for doing it how I did it. I would never do it again on a car that is a daily driver and under the same circumstances, but I would do it again with the right tools. I hate people who sound cockey and like they are "the man" for doing something on a car but it wasn't nearly as bad as everyone made out. And to this day I am proud to say I did it uner those circumstances, it all depends what your car is worth to you I guess haha I am one to talk though cause I sold it 5 months later for something faster and in better shape. Take from that what you will lol

Kudos to you for pulling it off. It's definitely a cool project, and if I had a third garage space I'd try it out.

I didn't realize that you sold yours. Isthe Matrix it's replacement or did you get something else?

I just can't make up my mind at this point. Maybe I'll win the lotto! LOL!

The Matrix is the replacement, after this summer I will probably sell it to be honest, I am not happy with it. I tried to find a MSP but all the ones up here where too rusty. One guy had one that had never seen winter but wanted 14,000 for it and it had 121,000kms, what a joke.

Yeah, its very similar to a VTEC and they sound exactly the same too. It is just not very benefitial to tune the second set of lobes to come in any sooner and before about 5k its gutless. So instead if hitting VTEC, in a Matrix you hit "Lift" lol. There is lots of aftermarket support fo the engine because it is the same one that Lotus uses in the Elise too. Its a good car, its just not for me, you feel like your driving an SUV because its so tall. I just put it up for sale so we will see, if it does not sell within a month I am stuck with it for Ontario Time Attack this year.

That's cool. An old girlfriend of mine bought one of those. I remember it seemed fun, but I don't remember the specifics. That was 10 years ago I'm sure.

Let me know if you want a super clean P5! (rlaugh)

I don't have many recent pics, but I like this one a lot. Haven't done many cosmetic mods since the new paint...

She's a sexy lady now, and I probably owe her a decent photo shoot. Maybe this weekend or sometime soon. Here's another one of here after an early morning romp in the snow.

ProjectBlack is complete!! Found some powder coated RX-8's that fit perfectly with the 215/35/18's. I am going to take my car on a date now.

mudflaps are growing on me.... but would be completely useless for me.... but makes the car look lower.... decisions

^ I should have edited, and added "for now!". LOL!

I know...the tires were fresh out of the shop and Discount Tires doesn't shine them. I could not wait to post pics. I was too excited.
