hey my name is steven and it doesnt happen all the time but my car i think it backfiring. when i press the gas it doesnt run as well and shakes more i own a 03 mazdaspeed protege but ne help replay please and like i said it will shake and then wen idling it will be at about 600 rpm and then shifting it feels like im not getting all the power from my mazda so if you could let me know wat u think please tell me thanks

are you getting any CEL's? sounds like your ignitions coils are ******. i had some backfiring issues recently, threw the p0300 code. replaced the coils, wires, and plugs. runs good now

get the code scanned at autozone or advanced auto parts. report back what it says.

need the codes, otherwise it could be just about any of about 12 things off the top of my head.

some are, but the more likely ones aren't. assuming you can do the work anyway.

autozone is a man's best friend. although there code reading's are kind of generic, it will give you a cheap start, well free start, on finding out what's wrong

SOOO many other things it could be without knowing the codes.

well if the engine light is flashing it is probabley the coils and wires

ok it was the wires lol so 120 bucks later it runs like a dream lol big difference with new wires and im from michigan and thanks for all you guys help with it

its just a backfire...nothing to worry about

unless your stock, then i dont think that should happen
