Premacy clicking noise from front

Hey,

I have a mazda premacy 1.8 gsi 1999, I noticed today whilest going to work a clicking noise. The noise is coming from the front. It is not present whilest the car is stood still and only happens while driving. I have tried coasting with the car out of gear and its still there. I doesnt change when iapply the breaks. Its like a clicking you would get when putting something into a bikes spokes. It changes speed with the speed of the car but doesnt change when reving the engine.

any ideas would be more that welcome

Cheers John.C

Damn, I'm afraid we don't have many 1st gen Premacy owners in this forum, but I had that in one of my cars (not a Mazda, but same issue) and it happened to be a broken seal of the wheel CV joint, something like this:

Does your car have those type of joints? If the rubber seal breaks and water/dust gets in there then that causes the trouble...

Hey,

thanx for the reply, Yeah it has does cv joints but u have checked them all and they are all in good working order.

I had same clicking noise in my 2006 MZ5. I even called the dealer and scheduled a visit. They suspected the cv-joint/axle right away. Then Noise disappeared after I removed the tire for inspection, and remounted it and used my torgue wrench to tighten lugs to specs. The noise has not reappeared since. Which makes me wonder what caused it.

I figured, The dealer will start with replacing the cv-joint. Retorque the wheels and then observe. If noise still comes, they will suspect next the wheel bearings.
