There'll be events all throughout February (and hopefully most of March) on Sundays, so maybe you can come out one of those days!

You can bring any car you want Last time I was up in VT, we had two STis, a Yugo (1st place in class), a Fiat, Audi Quattros, VW Jettas, a Ford Explorer, a Hyundai Accent, etc.

So, the hint is that you should bring whatever car you got, even if your Protege is in the garage

It's pretty safe actually-- one car a time and you dont' hit anyone. If you spin out and slide, you just slide on the ice/snow. Not even worth the helmet (the Boston BMW CCA guys don't require one, but the Vermont guys do due to insurance requirements). These events are also fully insured, as long as you stay within the course boundaries (i.e. don't drive way out on the lake).

....no worry there.....you could put houses on the ice and not worry.....it's nice hearing the ice crack and move when standing/driving on it. gets me worried but there is no need for that.......very safe.

in maine and on the great lakes and probably in VT/NH also in the winter people drive full size trucks right out on the lakes and set up cabins for ice fishing. Sometimes they even have cast iron wood stoves in their cabins on the lake.....heck even in RI I saw some people out on a lake with their wrx last year. Other than a subaru I personally prefer to stick to my quad when im out on the ice but its a good time no matter how you slice it.

I am sure they will be doing it again this year. I was just looking for that again too. I also went to NER.org and got the list of events.

I may go to a road rally coming up. The thing is it's mainly all about going the speed limit. I dont like that.

The BWM club is doing its first race, as far as I know, Sunday after this Sunday (first Sunday of February). They have to wait longer for the ice to freeze, since they aren't as up north.
