please help

Hello all,

I know this isnt a Protege question, but it's general. BTW I have a 03 Pro 5

I have a 94 Acura GSR with about 50k miles on it and looking for a mechanic in the bay area to do major tune-up.

I will need to change:

1)shocks ( the car is very loose)
2)major tune up..the car isn't running great.
3) new clutch or adjustment
4) timing belt @ 50k?
5) probably new brakes

any recomendation in the san jose area? What would I be expecting to paid for all the above?

How about Made in Japan? Will the dealer rip me a new hole if I take it to them?

I might be able to help you out... I have worked on many honda/acura in the past and to this day...
for sure i can do your shocks and minor tunning...
Im from concord..... let me know..

It's my GF's car, she will want a certified mechanic with a shop. If it was my car, I wouldn't care.


How much would I be expecting to pay for all of that work?

well to have a certified mechanic or shop to do it, it will cost alot...
timming belt alone is at least $200,
new clutch $400,
shock $200+,
brake pads $100..
the thing thats going to cost a lot is the labor. go to acura or honda and get a price quote and you'll see it won't be pretty.

He used to work on all my family's cars when I lived out there. He knows his stuff! The entire front area is full of his and his staff's certifications! He does it right, the first time. Rates are good too. He can check it all out to see whatis needed, and what is not.

You're correct...Steven's Creek Acura is asking $828 for Timing Belt, Water pump, tensioner and belts.

New Clucth is $600+
