I installed my A/F and EGT gauges at the CD box place:

My Boost gauge is currently on the steering column but I will install it with the 2 other gauges, under the radio. I think we have enough place to install 3 gauges there.

What is the pyrometer used for, and where does it connect to?

The pyrometer give you the exhaust temperature. IT is also called EGT for exhaust gas temperature. It is very useful to see how your engine is runing. If you are runing too lean or if the timing is realy bad, your engine will heat more and you will be able to see it on you EGT gauge.

I also use it to see how long I must let my engine runing after a hard ride. You can see the temperature going down and when it reach a normal temperature point, I can shut off the engine.

The EGT is connected to a probe that you install either on the exhaust manifold or in the case of a turbo setup, just at the output of the turbo, on the downpipe.

It's a very useful gauge!

Ok, I'm changing my plans...

Since I'm not the handiest craftsman in the world, I'm opting to go with an a-pillar gauge pod. 2 gauge setup (boost, exhaust temp).

Now, obviously they don't have a protege molded pod. So do I go with the prelude (someone recommended it since it to has a large pillar) or should I get one for the ford focus (since, well, ya we all know about the focus's relation to the protege)?

Any info would be great!!

While reading this post something similar t this was running through my head.

3 gauges should not be a problem as long as you push the two on the ends to the outside as fars a possible and keep the integrity of the plate and security of the guages.

I was wondering what is the best pilar pod to customize to car. I heard prelude, 95 civic and 97 miata. Does anyone know which is best and if there is anyone with pics of theirs done.

I found the old post by linux racer with pics of the one from th 96 civic he installed. There is also another post saying that this one is the closest to ours and conforms the best. I wanted to order one and wanted to know which one to go with. Found my answer and already ordered it with my dragon foam filter. Has a link to pics of his to.
