People from Toronto...

Orginally, i wanted to post this on the Toprotege.com forum, but since it's down i can only post here...

Where do you guys normally wash your cars in the Winter? I'm looking for those wash where they don't have those chain/tracks that drag your car in. I'm worried about rim rash or my car being too low if i drop into the track. Not a good picture.

It doesn't matter if it's touch or touchless. As long as they don't have the track/chain.

I've heard about the one at Esso (Woodbine & Steeles), but i was told they don't to do a good job.

Please don't mention about coin wash, because the last time i went, i expected warm water which turned out to be freezing cold and it had ate my coins the 2nd time i put in to rinse off the car. The coin wash experience also made my hands hurt for the rest of the afternoon where my hands were near frozen.

Thanks!

Hey im from toprotege.com...if you goto the front page there is a link on the front page to MPSport.net that will take you to where we are posting now....

And you were right DO NOT take the car to one of those Shell, Esso, etc ones where you get dragged through the car wash...i dont even like the ones that you can drive through because the buffer, etc touches your car and you dont know what guys have come through before you and left crap off their car on that....

those wash bays are the best idea, just have to find good ones...post up on mpsport where we are now and if u tell people what area your are in im sure someone could tell you good ones

and the best option is to do it at home, thats where i do mine regularly....twice a week in the summer with Mothers stuff - and now the MP3 is parked for the winter

make sure u hit up where we all are right now

Limited Ed. - The touchless washes at Esso are pretty good. They don't do a fantastic job, but they get most of the salt off, and they're cheap and fast. :)
You drive under the dryer when leaving, so try to go when there is no line-up so you can go real slow under the dryer without pissing off the next guy. Get it as dry as you can and wide out the door jams after. I keep a towel in the trunk for that.
I go in the morning to let the car dry in as warm a temperature as I can and after I usually give a squirt of lock de-ice in each lock to displace the water.
Then every-so-often when you have time, go to a good coin wash and do a more thorough job.:)
