p5 looks so so good

I agree the body design really did attract me to the vehical. Does anyone know what the design influences for the P5/Familia/323 were? I read in an article about how Alfa Romeo 147 and Peugeot 307 were design influences for the new 3. If you compare the rearend of the Alfa and the M3 the resemblance is uncanny. So what did Mazda use for our beloved P5?

p5 still looks 10x better then the lexus. god i love the p5's. ive never regreted buying the car even knowing its going to make money really tight. it was so worth it.

batty - I totally agree. I just got out of leasing a Focus - nice car but no sex appeal. Nothing in that car made me want to drive it. And that's the whole idea behind a car...you have to want to drive it. If it was all about transportation, we'd all be driving econoboxes. I look forward to a long relationship with my P5.

tonkabui is right on the money about the Lexus influence. How can Mazda change such a good thing? Just put the new engine inthe current P5 body, add titanium to the color choices and we will be in business.

someone said someone from the design team for the is300 was on the team that designed the protege5, notice how the fronts look similair

nope... resale value is dropping like a rock. you can pick up a new p5 for REALLY cheap. my little bro is looking into getting one, and he just found one with all the options for 15K. a family friend at the dealership said if he waits a little while longer, he can get it for under 15K, once the new mazda3 hits the lot and the dealers scramble to get rid of the old stock.

Im here to end this threadjack. Back to the topic at hand. The MP5 is by far one of the sexiest cars off the lot. It is amazing how, with no mods, I get double takes and head nods all the time. I will be keeping this car until it dies, and I might rebuild the engine and keep it for my dawn patrol beach runs. One thing I love about the car is how the Lexus IS Sportcross wishes it looked as sexy as our car. Putting the two next to eachother and compairing the looks is a no contest situation. All I can say is thank god I got this car. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made!!!!
