P5 belt route

hey, the belt o my p5 came off today and i didnt see the original route for the serpentine, can anybody lend a hand. Also is everything ran off one belt or is there another belt that runs the power steering.

Two belts...(outer) Ac/Power Steering/Crank and (inner) Water Pump/Alternator/Crank. May as well replace them both. You'll probably have to get underneath the car to loosen the alternator. The Service manual has a good write-up on how to do this. Two weeks later, retighten the belts or they will start to squeel, glaze and have to be replaced again. Good luck.

It is two belts, go ahead and replace them both. They like to be pretty tight or they will squeal. Absolutely re tighten them in about two weeks and recheck them two weeks after that.

I have done the alternator belt from the top but that may not be possible on a P5 because of the position of the cruise control actuator (if you can get to it you have to do it by feel.) GL

That cruise control actuator is very annoying when trying to loosen the tensioning bolt on the alternator! When I have to remove my belts, I've made it a practice to remove the two 10mm bolts holding the CC actuator in place, and move the CC out of the way. This only requires removing the two bolts and unclipping the one electrical plug. With this out of the way, it is very easy to get the the alternator bolts...
