p0300

Been having a lot of problems lately with my 06 masdaspeed6. The dealer has replaced my ignition coil twice already in the past year due to a p0300 and a po301 (Thats what they told me). Warranty just ran out the last time they replaced it about a month ago. Just the other day the light came back on took it back to them and they said i have a p0300 code again but they still cant find the problem after taking it apart again. They told me it could be caused by bad plugs (they checked them and told me they where fine). Then they told me it could be my mazdaspeed CAI causing the problem and to put the factory one back in and see what happens. Before i go and do this just wondering what you guys think. Sorry for the bad grammar. Also my car only has 30,000 miles on it any other info you guys need just tell me. i know i left something out.

my old car p0300 was random misfire...p0301 random misfire cylinder 1. usually caused by spark plug gapping... but that was my old car... just my input

Quote I found:

"A P0300 diagnostic code indicates a random or multiple misfire. If the last digit is a number other than zero, it corresponds to the cylinder number that is misfiring."

with your CAI did you put in the intake temperature sensors and the MAF back in? cant see how the CAI alone could cause misfires.

CAI ==> not the cause.
DEALER ==> idiots

u know they were just trying to get rid of you, sorry a bit of a rant. back to topic

agree they do suck. They just replace the number 1 coil and plug maybe they didn't do it right? I have herd of the CAI making the car run lean and it is idling a little rough at times

the ecu usually compensates for more or less airflow (due to CAI per say), i dont know, a good routine maintenance probably wouldnt hurt, clean the maf, plugs, wires, maybe a injector cleaning.

How many miles on the current plugs? I was getting the P0300 until I swapped out my plugs. I'm CEL-free since then.
