So my friend wants me to buy his rims. never been used. he bought them then the car took a dirt nap so i know they will fit.. im not sure if i will have to roll the fenders or not but my question to you, is there anything that anyone has heard about these rims.. good...bad.. ive never heard of R-1 wheels. im in the process of doing my research this is part of it. So heres the link tell me what you think or what ill need to do.. or if for some reason they wont fit due to something that i dont know about

thanks guys.

These rims are going for $840.00 for a set of 4 on wheelfire.com.. im thinking about offering him $600.00 for them.. what do you guys think?.. go lower?.. higher? or dont buy lol.. if not im deffinately going with the tenzo-r type M's

They're OK. Nothing special that 'wows' me enough to really tell you that you should get them. If you really like them and the price is right, then go for it.

see thats the thing i dont REALLY like them.. like you said they're OK. i was seeing if anyone in here could sway me to say yes or no based on what they think or things they know about the wheel.

Do you guys think i would need a fender roll with these i am on stock suspension and springs.. they're 18x8 and under off set it says HPO/MED.. whatever that means..? any suggestions?? and this will be my summer set up.. already have my winter set up on stock rims with blizzaks.. so any suggestion on good summer tires is appreciated aswell. Thanks

They're pretty nice, wouldn't be my first choice but defin wouldn't mind rocking them. What colour is your car?

Black Mica..so i would look slick and im blacking out tail lights and leaving the chrome emblems so the matching crome will be a nice touch as well. would you know if i would need my rear fenders rolled?.. theyre 18x8

That would look really slick! And sorry I'm of no help with the fenders. Hopefully someone more knowledgable comes along soon.

thanks guys.. im gunna look at them to make sure their in good condition and offer my friend $600 for them.. ill go up to $700 since theyre about $850 brand new.. hes never put them on the car.. theyre still in the original packaging.. any ideas on how much i should offer him or take them for is appreciated. 0nce again all of you guys on here are extremely helpful.

And there's the most knowledgable of them all coming to the rescue (nana)
and I would offer him 500 and go up from there

You have to factor in the benefit of not paying shipping. Your friend also has to consider the benefit of knowing someone local that he doesn't have to worry about arranging the shipping on them. With that said, brand new in the box I would say $600 is fair. If you absolutely love them, $700 is not out of line. If worse comes to worse and you absolutely do not like them, don't run them. Keep them in the boxes and sell them on here for $700 + shipping. You'll make a little money and you'll help your friend out.

thanks guys i appreciate it. i offerd 500 and he said "HELL NO" then i asked him what he wanted he said $1,000.. so i told him that theyre going for $210 a wheel on wheelfire.com so theres no way id pay more then their cost brand new.. and he moved down to 800. i think if it comes down to it i will pay 800 cuz id be saving $50 on the wheels and a good bit on shipping i wouldnt have to pay. but im gunna go over there today with $700 in hand and negotiate for that.. i dont think he will turn it down but ill keep you guys posted.

Those wheels aren't worth $800. I'd say $600-650 at best, regardless of who they're from.

Also, 225/40 on stock wheels and lowered doesn't rub. Any 8" wheel you go with, even on stock suspension, cuts it close in the rear, and people typically roll the fenders to play it safe. It really varies on the offset. If you go 18x8", you'll really want to go with a 235/40/18 tire to fit the wheel well and protect it, but it requires a fender roll to drive properly and protect the tires.

Thanks steve, ill see what i can do with the price on the wheels.. this kids a real jew (im jewish too so all the jews on here cant get mad lol) and he stupidly bought them for $1,200 and is all sour about it and wants alot of $ for them..and one more question where would i go to get my fenders rolled i havent ever heard of any shops doing that sort of thing.

Look around, but some collision shops that also do hot rods or restorations should be able to do them without much trouble. I found a few local places in MI that did it for reasonable price (under $200). You can also rent a fender roller and DIY, but you should know what you're doing to protect your paint (it can crack from stress if not heated up properly).

But wouldnt i have to get a wider tire for a wider rim.. stock rims are 7" wide and the tires were 215/45/R18 i believe... these rims are 8" and you suggested 235/40/R18.. i thought the "40" was the width of the tire.. unless im wrong.
