Hey guys i just noticed a quiet high pitch grinding noise coming from under the engine of my 1.8L manual 2000 protege(canadian car) so i checked it out
All look normal execpt for this leak i noticed. The leak looks to be coming from some seal with a wire coming out of it. Its located beside the oil filter. I re sealed the oilpan about a year ago. Heres a pic of the leak
I dont know what the metal seal/plug covered in oil is, or how hard of a job it is to replace it? Also could this be the source of the high pitch grind im hearing?
