no boost after car warms up?

Compressor surge is when the boosted intake air has no where to go but back in the OPPOSITE direction of where your turbo is spinning. So your turbo goes from 30,000 rpm to 0 or negative in zero seconds flat. That WILL break your turbo. The blow off valve or by-pass valve ejects that compressed air so it doesn't go back into your turbo. The people who don't run BOV run BPV instead... both serve the same purpose of purging the charged air from the pipes. Coming from someone who actually owns a turbocharged car.

This, it can do things from screw the bearings up to break the propellers, which can send s*** tons of metal into the engine to **** more s*** up.

If I go from cruising in 3rd at around 60 and just mash it ill hit 16-18psi almost instantly. And that didn't hurt my turbo at all. A couple runs on 20-22 psi is another story

compressor surge really shouldnt matter if it's a ball bearing turbo. if it's a journal bearing turbo then yes it will damage it in the long run

It's not good for any turbo, ball bearing will hold up to it longer. But he also has a used turbo iirc so it's hard to tell how good of shape it's in. 10 years of 1200+ degrees and down to 30 will cause any material to weaken. Could be one or 2 surges away from breaking or it could hold up to 100's of them

How's it idle? Lol
like crap lol put bov back on today after i took it apary cleaned all grease out sanded off oxidation and pitting on aluminum with really fine sand paper added 9 washers cuz it looks like spring was cut and with no washers its full open at idle and put it back on it seems ok but didnt really get to drive it cuz of the rain

If you want to cover shipping I can send you one in good shape, just needs the bottom o ring. It's just sitting on my counter taking up space

Since I'm bored as s***, here's around about what it should look like and what to look for

As you can see its just a cheap eBay

Most of the eBay ones have 2 springs if there isn't enough pressure it will allow it to open under boost

Push up on the valve to pop the center cartridge out. Clean the diaphragm and inspect for tears make sure to regrease it

Inspect the little oring here as you can see mines chewed up, it will leave its place here and roll up and cause a big leak, I had another rip and it got lodged on the throttle body plate

If you look up top you can see where it's screwed up

Now if you didn't check any of these pull it apart and check them it takes 20 minutes.

As I said if you want or need this one cover shipping and ill send it to you, I did forget it has 2 of the screws stripped out though, but if you need the springs or diaphragm let me know

Oooo looks like a turbo xs
LOL i already said it was
So i worked on the car today and found out my -------> turbo xs type h bov<--------- eas completely siezed up.. i took it apart n found no washers inside and the piston frozen..took it apart cleaned it with a wire wheel lubed it eith grease and the piston started sliding. Put it together n saw on idle it was open added 4 random washers i found and its closed on idle but opens under boost and i start bucking... i guess i need more washers or mayb a new bov.
But thank you tho... if mine dont work i will pm u for the one you are offering me

So after banging my head for a week and adding washer after washer after washer on the spring for my bov to make it stiffer and it still losing all the boost I stopped at ace hardware and decided to buy a spring that looked compatible. i noticed my spring had been cut (probably to try n make it stiffer) but it was still weak like crazy n i pulled out something like 10 washers i had added and knew i needed to change it. So i found a 2 pack for 4.99 just a lil bit stiffer than the one i took out put it in n now i have boost finally.. Im only boosting 5 lbs but at least its boosting. Now to try n figure out y i am at 5 and not at 8 . i will keep u guys posted

May still need to be stiffer, I'm sure turbo xs has replacements, you can probly use them from an eBay knock off too

well i added a washer to it just to see but im still only getting 5 lbs boost i installed the lower o2 also just in case which killed my cel but still same boost then i found out turbo uses a different spark plug than na so i changed the plugs too bu no change i wonder if wastegate is set too low? n how do u check it without removing the turbo?

You can make a $5 boost controller. Just look it up. I'm runing a home made one and it works fine
