Newb Question about Stereo

Alright, so I bought a Mazda Protege5 today and unless I've gone retarded, the P5 has a DoubleDin Stereo...My Cougar had a doubledin, but couldnt fit any standard 6.5" in dash double din DVD players. Can the protege sport said item?

Oh yeah, would the protege5 have a stock preamp? I pulled the stereo out of my cougar and was wondering how much trouble im going to have (i hate stock amps)
