Just got her 2 days ago, its an 06 Touring auto blue/green type of color, and i just love the way it handles. I passed on the CX-7, it was too truckish for me, but very fast. Im coming from a 02 subaru WRX wagon which got stolen and totaled in october. The 5 doesnt have the power (of course) of the wrx, but the handling is up there with it which is why i chose it instead of the CX-7. Yeah, im gonna miss the turbo and the AWD but the family is getting bigger so i need the room, but not at the size of an SUV or regular mini van. So, here are some cell phone pics

Welcome Welcome. I am sure you will enjoy even more.

congrats! nice looking wagon you had. shame it got totaled. i've got a peanut eye wagon and a mazda5, as well.

Thank you guys. I do see alot of suby owners and ex owners here. Now it makes me feel much better about my decision to get the 5. Its like the next step up.

definitely. i was supposed to trade my wagon in for the 5, but i couldn't let go of it, so it's my weekend car. we've got two kids now and with one, the wrx was fine. but with two, it'd be super tight. those rear facing child seats eat up so much room and the wrx is pretty small to begin with.

Welcome, looking good. Wayne Mazda, Isn't the largest Mazda dealer in the US? Relatively far from where I live but that was my backup plan to get a Mazda5 with manual, they have every single model and trim there...

You were saying? ;) I passed on a Legacy because of that...

wow, youre all loaded up there. I was just putting in my 11 month old's car seat in the 5 last night and it was a workout, but got it in nice and tight with plenty of room for the rest of us. Yeah, why do all dealers claim that theyre the largest? But the wayne mazda guys where defenatly cool, made the whole process so painless, very pleased with the way everything was handled.

I wish i still had my wagon. I was so tempted to get another one but it just wasnt practical enough anymore and i didnt want the risk of it getting stolen again, since the WRX are the new honda civics. But i love the 5, and i cant wait to start working on that suspension.

Safety note with child seats: when you transition away from the latch anchors for the child seats, make sure you read and learn about the locking feature of seatbelts (have to pull the belt out all of the way till it clicks when it retracts). I didn't know I was doing it wrong all these years.

Im trying to find a shop that specializes on Mazdas here in New Jersey or NYC metro area so i can always go there and get work done on the 5 and get it done right. Any one in or around my area know of any? I will only let the dealer ship do warranty work, nothing else.
