New Seats

Here's what I'm thinking...tell me if it's stupid. I want to get racing seats and take the middle fabric from the stock seats and add it to the new seats so that the front seats still match the back as far as color. How do you think this would look? Any ideas if there is even enough fabric there or if I can get it somewhere other than from the stock seats?

I wouldn't think that there would be enough fabric on the existing seats to stitch into the new racing seats. Besides, the pattern of the seat will most likely not match, and you could end up with ugly lines in the fabric.
I would suggest contacting your local Mazda Dealer to see where the seats are manufactured, and then contact the company about buynig a bolt of the fabric from them. This could be very expensive though, but worth a shot.

Most people just recover their back seats. Buy whatever you want for the front, then recover the backs to match. The cost is probably comparable to what you suggested.
